Everest Lager – Nepal

Posted by on July 21, 2013

Nepal Chitwan, Kathmandu, Bungy 364
Place – Nepal

Drink – Everest Lager

Date – May – June 2013

Price – 180 rupees for 650ml bottle (£1.30)

Strength – 5%

Highlights – Can drink on top of the world, Nepal in a glass

It was great to arrive in Nepal and have a choice of good beers behind the bar, but nothing intrigued me more than Everest. Everything to do with Nepal is Everest related so when I ordered this I hoped it wasn’t going to be as bad as the tacky souvenirs on offer around the corner, and thankfully it didn’t disappoint. Light in taste, Everest isn’t just any premium beer, this is the ultimate beer to drink after a gruelling hike to Everest base camp at 5,340m, and if you didn’t fancy the hike then Everest is pretty much a perfect beer just to sip in the sun. Not my favourite Nepali beer but definitely up there so I’ll give Everest a 4 pint award.

4 star beer
