After spending the last 3 months pretty beer free it felt like Christmas morning when we arrived in McLeod Ganj to find an Indian cider behind the bar. Gold Home has the feel of a Somerest style cider, however lacks the ‘ooo arrr’ homely feel which makes the English cloudy cider so tasty on a warm Saturday afternoon. While this isn’t quite up to the mark, its definitely a preferred option to the sour beer on offer. I couldn’t quite work out if this contained glycerine or just tasted a bit bitter/strong due to its 8% alcohol volume, either way I’m giving it a respectful 2.5 pint award.
